5th Annual Community Feast

Community Feast brings together our students, faculty, staff and community of Juneau to gather in place as we immerse ourselves in the Alaska Native Traditions while enjoying a meal together. The Native and Rural Student Center, in collaboration with various community and UAS organizations, facilitates a wonderful day of celebration on the Juneau Campus! From listening to our community Elders, enjoying harvested foods at the Try Station, and learning Native Dancing, there is something for everyone at this beloved and highly respected event.

Green Dot

The Green Dot strategy is a violence prevention program based on empowering bystanders. When people attend our trainings, they learn to recognize potentially harmful situations and how to safely intervene.
A green dot is the single choice to use your words or actions to prevent someone from being harmed. A red dot is the choice to use words or actions to harm another person. When the green dots start to outnumber the red dots, we increase safety on our campus and in our community!

What about an entire shopping mall? Meet Alex More - a struggling actor in LA. Desperate for any opportunity, he takes a gig working in the Malibu basement of an iconic superstar. And yes, that basement is a full-fledged shopping mall. But what happens when the Lady of the house actually comes downstairs to say hello? This one-man tour de force will have you laughing, singing, and using your imagination.

ENGL 493: Ancient Greek Thought and Traditions - A Travel Seminar to Greece
Advanced study of classical Greek intellectual traditions through mythology, history, rhetoric, and dramatic works. Examines primary texts and their ongoing influence on Western literature and discourse. The course includes a one-week study abroad component in Greece over
spring break, with visits to archaeological sites, museums, temples, and
theaters relevant to course texts.
